ZTE Axon made official but only for the US, delivers top specs at just $449.98

A new ZTE Axon smartphone has been unveiled by the Chinese company exclusively for the US market as of now. This device offers high-end specs, but has been slapped with quite an attractive price tag of just $449.98. That value applies to the unlocked model of course, and there’s no sight of any carrier-branded version yet.

ZTE claims to have crafted the Axon keeping nothing else but the US market in mind. It has equipped the device with a metallic body that comes in ion gold, chromium silver and phthalo blue color options.

On its front surface it sports a 5.5-inch QHD LCD monitor which is covered with Corning’s Gorilla Glass 3 for protection. At the heart of the Axon is a 2GHz octa core Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor that’s granted assistance in its operations by a whopping 4GB of RAM.

Coming to the camera setup of this ZTE phone, it holds on its rear surface two snappers of 13MP and 2MP capacitates. This makes depth sensing possible, thus enabling various software attributes that look to enhance the images. A dual tone flash accompanies these snappers on the back of the device, while the front camera goes for a flash-less 8MP shooter.

Here’s a quick look at the main specs of the ZTE Axon:

– Display: 5.5-inch, 1440 x 2560 pixels QHD
– OS: Android 5.1 Lollipop
– CPU: 2GHz octa core Snapdragon 810 (64-bit)
– GPU: Adreno 430
– Memory: 4GB RAM, 32GB storage (not expandable)
– Cameras: 13MP + 2MP rear, 8MP front
– Battery: 3000mAh

Android 5.1 Lollipop is the base OS of this handset, and there’s of course 4G LTE support present onboard. Another highlight of the device is its Hi-Fi audio playback support.
