A recent announcement from Zotac reveals a new addition to its popular GeForce 9800GT family. The company has now added a more power efficient product called the GeForce 9800GT Eco to its innovative line up. With up to 40% greater power efficiency, the graphics series should excite eco-conscious gamers.
High on performance, the novel 9800GT Eco is loaded with 112 stream processors and the high-speed GDDR3 memory technology. The fast-stream processors are combined with a wide 256-bit memory interface that delivers smoother frame rates and vivid visuals.
Besides enhancing the gaming experience, the graphics cards should also cater to the needs of users who work with video editing, processing and playback applications. The reliable GeForce 9800GT Eco also features the Nvidia Cuda, Physx and PureVideo HD technologies.
“Our mainstream ZOTAC GeForce 9800GT has won many awards for its performance. With the new ZOTAC GeForce 9800GT Eco, you can have the competitive performance of the GeForce 9800GT series but with 40-percent greater power efficiency,” commented Carsten Berger, marketing director, ZOTAC International.
He further mentioned, “We’ve come to a crossroads with graphics technology where we can use our graphics cards to accelerate non-3D applications. With this power, PCs are able to use the graphics cards to speed up image and video editing and transcoding to achieve better results than a quad-core CPU, calculate realistic physics effects, and playback high-definition video with greater image quality than most standalone players.”
With a 550 MHz engine clock, the graphics card bundles in 64 stream processors, 1375 shader clock, 512MB GDDR3 memory and 1800MHz memory lock. The SLI-ready graphics card is additionally attributed by the PCI Express 2.0 interface, the DirectX 10 with Shader Model 4.0 compatible, openGL 2.1 compatible and the dual dual-link DVI up to 2560 x 1600.
Known to be bundled with an extended warranty, there is no word yet on the price or availability of the GeForce 9800GT Eco.
