ZapakMail breaks World Record for highest number of Registered Users on a Single Day

ZapakMail logo Zapak Digital Entertainment has won itself a world record. On May 4, 2007, the company announced that it had registered around 1,15,263 users for its email service called ZapakMail. This record-breaking number is estimated to be the largest number of registered users recorded by any Web site on a given day.

According to Rohit Sharma, COO, Zapak Digital Entertainment, who confirmed this news, “We plan to roll out our mass media campaign from May 7, 2007 before which we conducted a teaser seeding with our TVC and Virals which has resulted in this disproportionate response. This is by far the highest number of registrations any Web site has garnered on one day. This is the first time a mail service is using 6-7 different creative routes to reach out to the masses and it has paid of for us.”

It was noted that the registrations on ZapakMail account for 45% from metros in India. However, registrations to ZapakMail have also comes come from places like Surat, Jamshedpur, Vizag, Japabalpur, and Nashik

Zapak Mail is yet in the beta stage and is targeted mainly at new Internet users and first time mail users through its extremely simple users interface. Besides, the only buttons that are really visible at a glance are the ones that the users will actually need for the basic purpose of sending an email such as “Compose”, “Send”, “Save as Draft”, and “Discard Mail”.

Thus, a new email user does not have to know about advanced features sich as search, spam filter and virus protection. These features are hidden and can be viewed when the user clicks on the “More Options” button.

Besides, being user-friendly to the core, Zapak Mail offers an unlimited mailbox capacity, which means that the users will never need to delete mails. Thus the user’s mailbox also services as a virtual hard-disk which can never get full.

A Zapak Mail user can send attachments totaling 32MB at a great speed. This allows the user to send heavy files over the Internet almost instantly.

With a host of great features and a user-friendly interface, it’s no wonder then that Zapak Mail managed to break a world record!
