Yu Yureka S, Yunique Plus hit India starting at Rs 6999

The Yu Yureka S and Yunique Plus have been launched in India and currently available via offline stores across the country. The smartphones are updated versions of their predecessors, targeting the affordable market sector in the nation.

Starting things off with the 4G-ready Yureka S, the handset is priced at Rs 12999 and features a 5.2-inch 1080p screen protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3. Design-wise, the phone has been fashioned out of a blend of metal and polycarbonate. It runs on Android 5.1.1 Lollipop with support for the brand’s Around Yu feature.

In terms of photography, the dual-SIM Yu smartphone carries a 13MP main camera which is accompanied by an aperture of f/2.0, zero shutter lag, and an OV13850 Purecell sensor. The module has been paired with a 5MP selfie snapper which offers an 84-degree wide-angle lens to squeeze more people into a shot.

The Micromax-owned Yu has further equipped the device with a Wolfson Codec, Noise Cancellation MIC and Yamaha Amp in order to increase the phone’s appeal among audiophiles. Other top specifications include an octa-core Snapdragon 616 processor, Adreno 505 GPU, 16GB of ROM, 3000mAh battery, and 3GB of RAM.

Moving on to the Yunique Plus, the smartphone will set interested buyers back by Rs 6999. It seems to sport almost the same set of features as its previous variant except in the memory department. While the older model got by with 1GB of RAM, the newer one sports 2GB worth of RAM.
