The Yu Yuphoria smartphone which will be the second release by the Micromax backed startup is set to go official next week. And while we already know quite a bit about the handset, a couple of teaser videos have been posted online highlight a couple of pretty interesting features.
The company’s CEO and founder Rahul Sharma has been teasing the phone through small clips. A couple of days back, a video (1st clip below) was uploaded where the Yu Yuphoria was shown taking a fall to the ground hard.
And instead of getting damaged, the phone manages to land a huge crack into the floor. This clearly points to a rugged design and we suspect that the phone might feature a metal build instead of plastic which is used for the Yureka. Of course, the handset will not be able to put a dent into the floor in reality.
Then we come to the second Yuphoria teaser video (2nd clip below) where the handset is shown to have some unimaginably loud speakers. The company is certainly hinting at high quality audio output which would be quite amazing mainly since the best sound we’ve heard on a smartphone comes from HTC’s BoomSound setup and these devices are quite pricy.
The upcoming Yu smartphone is being targeted at the Redmi 2 from Xiaomi. And this clearly means that the phone will offer similar features. We expect it to be smaller than the Yureka and also carry an HD display.
Here’s what we know about the Yu Yuphoria’s specs:
– Android 5.0 Lollipop, Cyanogen OS 12
– 16GB expandable storage
– 2GB RAM
– 64-bit processor
We’re just a few days away from seeing the Yu Yuphoria go official – So stay tuned for more information.
