YotaPhone with dual screens is Rs 5500 cheaper in India, but not for long

The notably unique dual screen handset, YotaPhone, is now selling at a discounted rate in India via Flipkart which is the exclusive retailer. The smartphone can be picked up for just Rs 17999 which is quite a great deal considering that the phone’s original retail tag was Rs 23499.

Now, as good as this may look, we have to point out that this reduced price tag could just be temporary. Flipkart’s home page shows the YotaPhone under its ‘deals of the day’ section stating that the new amount is for today only and this hasn’t been reflected on the main listing.

So basically, if you’re planning to get your hands on the device, now would be a good time as it could revert back to the original MRP from tomorrow. The YotaPhone was launched back in 2013 and is still one of the most unique smartphones on the market. And that’s thanks to its innovative design which adds a second screen to the body.

The front houses a 4.3-inch HD LCD touch panel, while the rear packs an EPD (electronic paper display) with monochrome visuals. The secondary screen cannot be interacted with, but it can be used for viewing stuff like notifications or any UI in particular.

YotaPhone key specs:

– 4.3-inch 720p HD LCD (front)
– 4.3-inch 640 x 360p EPD panel (rear)
– Android 4.2 Jelly Bean
– 1.7GHz dual core Snapdragon S4 SOC
– 2GB RAM, 32GB storage
– 1800mAh battery
– 1MP front camera, 13MP rear shooter

As mentioned above, the drop on the YotaPhone’s retail amount is most likely temporary, so be sure you get it on the cheap today – Rs 5500 off on a smartphone isn’t something you see on a daily basis.
