Real-time news and information is something Yahoo is known to bombard users of its web version with. A while ago, these traits made their way into its Mail app for the iPhone, and now they’ve been drafted into its Android cousin as well. This fresh update is available to download now through the Google Play store.
Yahoo Mail on Android has been overhauled in such a way that it gets a complete design makeover. It ties up with many of the company’s other services to bring you a lot more than just a look at your emails.
Once you’re done reading your messages, you can go ahead and read the news or even run a Yahoo search right through the same app. And that’s not all; Yahoo Mail for Android now enables you to see the weather forecast, view the latest sports scores, watch videos and even browse Flickr.
And then there’s the addition of Today which is being seen as a Google Now competitor. This feature displays tailored content for you in an efficient manner, so all you need to do is scroll down to find relevant information regarding local weather, sports scores, news headlines, popular videos and more.
This Yahoo Mail update is live now on the Google Play store and can be downloaded now on any Android device bearing version 2.2 of the said OS and up.
