Nestled amongst the various ways through which Android and iOS device users can discover applications, is the new Yahoo app search tab which has been added to the company’s search page. The newfangled option now sits cozily between the Web, Images, Shopping, Blogs and More sections on Yahoo.
Cordoned off within iPhone and Android segments, the applications are classified under several different categories covering Games, Entertainment, Social, Productivity, Health & Fitness, News, Sports, Books & Reference, Communication, Comics and many more.
Apart from the main window which slides app options by searchers, the numerous alternatives littering the two virtual marketplaces are also sorted out into three separations on Yahoo search. Depending on whether they’re paid, free or among the highest rated, these apps are classified under the respective sections.
Upon clicking on an application, a little window inviting visitors to send the app to their phone, swing by iTunes or use their handset’s QR code reader to scan the code, pops up. As Android Central points out, the ready availability of Android Market reviews for each application right from this interface is quite a nice touch.
Well, we never knew we needed a Yahoo app search facility for Android and iOS until now.
