Xiaomi has officially swung into the teaser phase of its promotional campaign for the upcoming Redmi Note Pro. The handset maker had previously confirmed that the new phone will be making its debut on July 27 at a major event in Beijing, alongside another device.
The first Weibo teaser up for discussion shows a chef preparing a dessert called OLED PING. This strongly suggests the Redmi Note Pro will be sporting Xiaomi’s first OLED display. The second promo cooks up dishes which literally translate to ‘ten nuclear double stem head’ and ‘brushed gold potato.’
While these sound pretty random at first glance, they could be a hint towards a deca-core processor and dual-camera setup. Previous rumors about the Xiaomi device had hinted as much. A Geekbench listing last week had revealed that the smartphone could be packing specs like a 10-core Helio X25 SoC, 4GB of RAM, and Android 6.0 Marshmallow.
The Redmi Pro had churned the rumor mills as the Redmi Note 4 before the manufacturer officially revealed the name of the smartphone. A leaked photo of the handset back then had indicated that the phone may be carved out of metal and sport antenna lines across the top and bottom portion of its back surface.
The image had also allowed people their first glimpse at Xiaomi’s dual-camera module. Going by the snap, the company is placing the lenses vertically on top of the other and will separate the two by a dual-LED flash unit. A separate leak of an official teaser poster for the phone had depicted a similar setup.
Stay tuned for more on the Xiaomi Redmi Pro up until its launch on July 27.
