Rumors about the Redmi Note 6 are starting to heat up with the arrival of a new listing on e-commerce site AliExpress. The phone’s front panel and digitizer have gone up for sale on the platform.
The seller says it’s the official screen and digitizer, but they would say that to sell units. It’s being sold at RUB 4059 which converts to roughly Rs 4183. The price isn’t the point of interest though, it’s the notch at the top. The Redmi Note 5 doesn’t have a cutout, so it looks like the company is going to shake things up with its next budget offering.
Xiaomi Redmi Note 6 Rumored Specs
The notch has enough space for a selfie camera, an earpiece, and a proximity sensor. There may even be an infrared sensor to detect faces in the dark, but that seems like a distant possibility since the Redmi Note 6 is probably going to be a budget handset. The page suggests that it’ll have a 6.18-inch display, so it could be pretty big.
Xiaomi may place a Snapdragon 660 processor at the heart of the smartphone. As always, there will likely be different memory variants. Noted tipster Roland Quandt had previously tweeted about a 3GB of RAM + 32GB of ROM option and a 4GB of RAM + 64GB of ROM version.
He also claimed that the Redmi Note 6 will be priced at roughly EUR 200 – EUR 250 (approx Rs 16450 – Rs 20570) in Eastern Europe. It might just cost less in markets like China and India since these rates are taking taxes into account. The device may also be available in more storage and color choices in other countries.
There’s no fixed date for the Redmi Note 6’s launch yet. It’s probably coming soon going by the spurt of leaks emerging on the internet.
