Xiaomi Redmi Note 6 Pro goes official with 4 cameras, notch design

Xiaomi Redmi Note 6 Pro

In a surprise move, Xiaomi has officially launched the Redmi Note 6 Pro in Thailand. The company’s posted a lengthy thread on its Thai forum to announce the phone and uploaded some promotional photos to its Thai Facebook page as well.

The Redmi Note 6 Pro is conspicuously absent from Xiaomi’s Thai website though. In any case, the handset has definitely arrived with a complete list of specs and a price tag. It costs THB 6990 (roughly Rs 15668) for 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage space. Only one variant appears to be on sale at the moment.

Xiaomi Redmi Note 6 Pro Camera Features

Xiaomi usually sells more than one version of its phones, so the actual memory specs and rates may vary as it travels from country to country. The brand is promoting the device as its first smartphone with four AI cameras, two at the back and two up front.

The Redmi Note 6 Pro’s rear 12MP main + 5MP depth lenses boast of AI dynamic bokeh for up to 6 different depth of field effects. Dual Pixel makes for better autofocusing, while larger 1.4um pixels and a brighter f/1.9 aperture results in improved low-light photography.

The 20MP main + 2MP depth selfie shooters come with Xiaomi’s AI portrait technology and 4-in-1 super pixel binning. The first feature helps in creating bokeh effects and the latter in reducing noise and increasing brightness.

The Redmi Note 6 Pro has a noticeably bigger screen than its previous variant thanks to its 6.26-inch FHD+ panel. The notch design has created an 86% screen-to-body ratio and 19:9 aspect ratio.

Weirdly enough, the Redmi Note 6 Pro has the same Snapdragon 636 processor as last year. Even the 4000mAh battery has stuck around, but at least it hasn’t become smaller. We’ll let you know as and when Xiaomi decides to release it in other markets.
