Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 is coming to India soon, new contest announced

Xiaomi Redmi Note 3

As was expected, Xiaomi has confirmed that its Redmi Note 3 phablet is slated to be launched in India soon. Unveiled back in November last year, this full-metal smartphone is still to be given an official release date by the Chinese company.

Its all-important price too has been kept a secret, but fans do have something to look forward to in terms of a contest which the firm has announced. Only 100 people will be chosen by Xiaomi as ‘Redmi Note 3 Explorers’ who will get to experience the device before it even hits the market. Those interested can head to Mi.com right now in order to register themselves for the contest.

While India will essentially be getting the same Redmi Note 3 model launched in China, there are still some doubts on which chipset it will be using. The original device has adopted Helio X10 SoC, but given the High Court order that bars Xiaomi from selling handsets with MediaTek’s processors, it might be forced to make some changes to the Indian model.

A neat look at the specs of the Xiaomi Redmi Note 3:

– Display: 5.5-inch 1080p full HD display
– OS: Android-based MIUI OS
– CPU: 2GHz octa core MediaTek Helio X10
– GPU: PowerVR G6200
– Memory: 2GB/3GB RAM, 16GB/32GB storage
– Cameras: 13MP rear, 5MP front
– Battery: 4000mAh

This phone is the first from the company to adopt an all-metal body. Moreover, it has also grabbed a fingerprint scanner which sits on its rear surface. Another highlight is its 4000mAh battery which comes with fast charging support.

The contest we’ve mentioned above is supposed to end on January 31; so we’re guessing the official release of the Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 will also take place around that period.
