We’ve been hearing news about the Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 smartphone since quite a long time, but the device is still to be made official by the Chinese company. That said, leaks regarding this upcoming offering continue to arrive on a regular basis, and one of them has slipped out today as well.
The Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 has surfaced in the form of two images believed to be of its retail packaging. Moreover, some more insight into its price and specs has also been provided.
Mobipicker is citing a Chinese leakster named @kjuma as the source of these leaks. As can be seen in one of the two images, the Xiaomi device happens to be running on an Android 5.0.2 Lollipop-based version of MIUI. There are high chances of this handset being the first one to run MIUI 7, as it’s expected to be unveiled on the same date as the software.
It is being said that the Redmi Note 2 will have its price set at 1099 Yuan which translates into around $177 or Rs 11500. That’s a considerably higher cost than that of its predecessor which is available right now 799 Yuan in China and at Rs 7999 in India.
Here’s a neat look at the leaked specs of the Xiaomi Redmi Note 2:
– Display: 5.5-inch, 1080p full HD
– OS: Android 5.0 Lollipop
– Processor: Snapdragon 615/MediaTek MT6795
– Memory: 2GB RAM
– Cameras: 13MP rear, 5MP front
– Battery: 3020mAh
Apparently, this new Xiaomi device will carry different processors in different markets. While one of the variants will ship with a Snapdragon 615 SoC, the other one will grab a MediaTek MT6795 chipset.
Like we said, August 13 is the date on which the Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 is expected to be unveiled officially; so stay tuned until then.
