Rumor has it that Xiaomi will also be unveiling its Redmi Note 2 smartphone on August 13, the date which it has officially reserved for the showcase of MIUI 7. This could very well mean that it will be the first handset from the company to come pre-installed with the software in question.
The Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 has been in the rumor mills for a pretty long time, and this seems like a right time for it to come out of the shadows. If its leaked specs are to be believed, it is all set to provide heavy competition to devices like the Meizu m2 note and the Lenovo K3 Note.
According to a My Drivers report cited by GSM Arena, Xiaomi’s online store in China has accidentally listed the smartphone along with its price. The 32GB model was sitting beside a retail value of CNY 799 which converts to $128 or Rs 8200. This means that its 16GB variant should cost around CNY 699 ($112 or Rs 7185).
That’s extremely aggressive pricing, but it’s no surprise for those who know the company’s usual practices. Another My Drivers post has claimed that the Redmi Note 2 will begin its journey in the Chinese market on August 16, thus increasing the possibility of it being unveiled alongside MIUI 7 on August 13.
Past leaks have told us that this Xiaomi phone will come equipped with a 5.5-inch 1080p full HD display and a 3020mAh battery. It will apparently kick in a 13MP main camera and a 5MP front snapper as well, aside from 2GB of RAM and other mid-range hardware.
Let us now wait until August 13 to find out more about the Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 and also MIUI 7.
