Lin Bin, the president of Xiaomi has teased the launch of the Mi Pad 2 now ahead of a grand event that is scheduled to take place on November 24. This comes right after he had released another teaser which was for the Redmi Note 2 Pro smartphone.
Despite the Xiaomi Mi Pad 2 having been teased by just one image, we can deduce a lot about it. Firstly, the material used on this seems like metal, which is a huge upgrade over the polycarbonate exterior of the original slate.
Just like the said device, this one too doesn’t grab a rear flash which may be a bummer for some, but tablets really aren’t something we’d back to be great photography tools anyway. Xiaomi seems to have maintained the button arrangement of its predecessor, with the volume and power keys both having been placed on the right edge.
Although it’s hard to guess its exact thickness, we can definitely say that the Mi Pad 2 is quite thinner than the earlier device. It’s not that we know nothing about the upcoming device, as we’ve indeed had several leaks give us a fair idea of what to expect from the slab.
Xiaomi has apparently blessed it with a 7.9-inch 1080p full HD display, while its processing is handled by a 2.4GHz Intel Atom x5-Z8500 processor. 2GB of RAM and 16GB of storage can also be expected to form part of its offerings.
The Xiaomi Mi Pad 2 will be unveiled alongside the Redmi Note 2 Pro on November 24. It seems like a longshot, but there’s indeed a chance that the much anticipated Mi 5 smartphone too will be making an appearance at this event.
