Xiaomi’s Poco F1 is landing in India on August 22 and a new rumor is trying to provide a few more hints of what to expect. The source this time is benchmark scoring website Geekbench.

The Poco F1 actually graced Geekbench’s door just last week. At that time, the phone had 6GB of RAM. The new test says the smartphone has 8GB of RAM. It’s clear Xiaomi is preparing two versions of the device, hence the difference in RAM.

Xiaomi Poco F1 Speculation

Previous rumors have alleged that Xiaomi is going to release 64GB and 128GB versions of the phone. Combined with the Geekbench listing, it’s possible there’s going to be a 64GB/6GB variant and 128GB/8GB model. The former might be priced at EUR 420 (approx Rs 33490) and the latter at EUR 460 (roughly Rs 36680).

The page doesn’t give too much away, confirming aspects like a Snapdragon 845 processor and the Android 8.1 Oreo OS. Interestingly, the 8GB Poco F1 scored 2451 in its single-core test and 8998 in its multi-core one. This is in contrast to last week’s 6GB Poco F1 which scored 2467 in its single-core test and 9081 in its multi-core one.

We’re not sure why the 6GB option beat the 8GB one, but there could be a number of factors at play. For instance, the Poco F1 isn’t out yet, so these scores might be from a pre-official model. The listings might even be fake, as so many leaked smartphones can be.

Xiaomi India has been busy hyping up the Poco F1 as the next big thing for the past couple of weeks. The phone’s big draw is its Snapdragon 845 SoC combined with a sub-Rs 40000 cost.

This will put the Poco F1 in the crosshairs of phones like the OnePlus 6 which also boasts of the same highlight. We’ll have to wait and see just how it measures up on August 22.
