Xiaomi’s dual-curved Mi Note 2 hit the scene back in October last year, and it looks like its successor will be arriving a bit earlier than that. A new rumor out of China alleges that the Mi Note 3 will go official as early as late August or September.
Not much is known about the Mi Note 3 as of now. Xiaomi is reportedly planning on switching things up by opting for a Samsung-made 2K OLED panel. The Mi Note 2 had made use of a LG dual-curved OLED screen. The shift may have come about because of problems in LG’s supply chain.
Specs-wise, the Mi Note 3 will probably sport a Snapdragon 835 processor and pair that with an ample 6GB of RAM. There’s no word on the Mi Mix 2 in the report. To recall, the original model had made its debut besides the Mi Note 2.

As far as speculation goes, the Mi Mix 2 is still expected to be launched in the second half of the year. It will probably retain its bezel-less form factor. It’ll likely face competition from Samsung, LG, and Apple in that regard since all 3 have entered or are set to enter the all-screen smartphone segment.
Given the unverified nature of the leak, it would be best to take the news about the Mi Note 3 with a pinch of salt. If not August, the phone will probably come out in October/November alongside the Mi Mix 2. We’ll let you know if anything changes on that front in the near future.
