Xiaomi has officially confirmed its plans to bring its massive phablet the Mi Max to India on June 30. This piece of news comes courtesy the manufacturer’s vice president Hugo Barra who announced the news via his Twitter account.
To recall, the Xiaomi Mi Max initially made its debut alongside the brand’s MIUI 8 OS back in May this year. While there hasn’t been any word from the company regarding the cost of the smartphone in India, it starts at CNY 1499 (roughly Rs 15000) for the 3GB of RAM, 32GB of ROM and Snapdragon 650 version in China.
The second Mi Max model is priced at CNY 1699 (approx Rs 17000) and offers up 3GB of RAM, 64GB of ROM and a Snapdragon 650 processor. Finally, the last variant is the most expensive of the lot thanks to its CNY 1999 (about Rs 20500) cost and serves up 4GB of RAM, 128GB of ROM and Snapdragon 652 SoC.
The new Xiaomi phone will probably appeal to people who want a huge 6.44-inch phablet form factor without burning a hole in their pocket. The device’s gargantuan size is matched by an equally huge 4850mAh battery which can power the phone through intensive game-playing or video-watching sessions all day.
