Today saw Chinese company Xiaomi unveil its new Mi Band Pulse wearable which has been granted a heart rate monitor by its makers. Despite the addition of this high-end sensor, the device manages to retain an extremely low price. Another launch is that of a 20000mAh Mi Power Bank.
But first let us take a look at what’s new in the Xiaomi Mi Band Pulse, or the Mi Band 1S as some like to call it. To the naked eye, it looks like the exact same device as its predecessor. However, at its back, it hides its new sensor which is capable of tracking your heart rate.
Mi Band Pulse can connect to your smartphone via Bluetooth 4.1, and provide its results on companion apps. Despite the addition of a new sensor, it just puts on 0.5gms of more weight. It retains its predecessor’s 45mAh battery, but offers 20 days of juice rather than 30.
Apart from monitoring your heart rate, this fitness device will even be able to track your sleep patterns and provide you with vibration feedback when notifications hit your devices. It will be sold in China from November 11 onwards at CNY 99, which translates into around $16 or Rs 1030.
Coming to the new 20000mAh Mi Power Bank, this offering bears a plastic body instead of the metal shell which the company’s other power banks offer. This reduces its weight a great deal. The device is so powerful you can even charge a MacBook with it. It features two USB ports and even offers fast charging support.
The 20000mAh Xiaomi Mi Power Bank too will be released on November 11. It will cost roughly around $24 or Rs 1600. There’s no word on when this product as well as the Mi Band Pulse will make their way into other markets.
