2 of Xiaomi’s upcoming handsets have gotten leaked online, revealing some intriguing details about each. The Mi 6X and Mi 7 are expected to come out one after another this year, with the second likely making its debut at the MWC 2018 next month.
Starting off with the flagship phone, the Mi 7 looks a lot like the Mi Mix 2 at first glance. It’s gotten hold of a narrow-bezel screen which features thin borders all around and a slim bezel at the top to house sensors. It even gives off a slightly iPhone X-esque vibe, except there’s no notch.
The iPhone comparisons likely won’t stop there as earlier rumors have alleged that Xiaomi is equipping the device with a 3D face scanner. Users won’t have to let go of their beloved fingerprint reader though, as the sensor can be spotted at the back.
Other suggested specs include wireless charging support, a Snapdragon 845 processor, an 18:9 OLED panel, and horizontally-arranged dual rear cameras. The Mi 6X is also expected to carry a pair of lenses on its back, but the photo above suggests that the two will be vertically aligned.
There’s also a cutout for a fingerprint sensor. This is good news since there’s no home button on the front of the alleged Mi 6X. There are 2 black borders flanking the top and bottom, but they’re thin enough to qualify the smartphone for the taller 18:9 aspect ratio bandwagon.
To recap, the Mi 5X was repackaged as the Mi A1 in India after blessing it with Android One goodness. It’s possible that the Mi 6X will serve as a follow-up to the latter as well. The Mi 5X came out in July 2017, so look out for the same timeline for its sequel.
