There’s quite some confusion regarding the Xiaomi Mi 6’s launch date, particularly due to the ambiguity surrounding Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 835 chipset which is rumored to be present inside it. A new report is now pointing out that the device will be unveiled on February 6.

Just a few days ago, word out on the street was that the launch of the Xiaomi Mi 6 has been delayed into April due to the delay in the production of the Snapdragon 835 SoCs. However, it now seems that the production is on schedule as the company has apparently started receiving shipments from Samsung, which happens to be the official manufacturer of the chipset.

As per GizmoChina, a prominent analyst from China has revealed this information on Weibo. Another report originating from the country is about the design of the Xiaomi Mi 6. It seems the device will take a lot of its design cues from the Mi Note 2 which was unveiled in October this year.

According to GSM Arena, this information too has arrived via Weibo. The Mi Note 2 is known for having a dual edged screen, and so the Mi 6 can be expected to be sort of a smaller version of the same. The leakster also mentions that the phone will be sold in the form of 128GB and 256GB storage options and in black, white and blue color choices.

At the moment, there’s absolutely no official information available about the Xiaomi Mi 6 smartphone. So all these details must be taken with a pinch of salt.
