The Xiaomi Mi 6 has finally gone official in China after an endless stream of leaks and speculation revealed almost everything there was to know about the handset. The brand’s latest flagship boasts of a sleek new design that incorporates four-sided 3D glass for a more seamless and rounded curved look.
There are 4 versions of the Mi 6 up for grabs. The standard 6GB/64GB model is priced at CNY 2499 (approx Rs 23500) and the 6GB/128GB one at CNY 2899 (about Rs 27000). There’s also a Ceramic Edition featuring a 6GB/128GB setup and 18K gold-plated camera rims at CNY 2999 (around Rs 28000) and a Silver Edition featuring an ultra-reflective mirror finish.
Xiaomi’s placing a heavy emphasis on the smartphone’s build quality, highlighting its glossy stainless steel frame, under-glass fingerprint reader, and splash resistant body complete with sealed ports. It’s chosen to abandon the 3.5mm headphone jack, so users will have to listen to music over Bluetooth or the USB Type-C port. The brand has also added dual front-facing speakers for louder sound.

One of the biggest highlights of the Mi 6 is its dual 12MP camera module which sits flush against the back. One handles wide angles and the other serves as a telephoto lens for 2x optical lossless zoom and 10x digital zoom. The two together allow for a Portrait mode which blurs out the background thanks to depth of field effects.
