Early next year, Xiaomi will finally be pulling the veil off its much delayed Mi 5 smartphone. Ahead of that though, it might have taken to a bit of teasing and hidden messaging, as the phone has possibly been showcased in a new picture that’s advertising the company’s Yeelight bedside lamp.
If you look at the photograph in the space down below, it’s easy to dismiss the handset as the Mi Note. However, the said phablet does not feature such less bezels. The only unreleased product we can speculate it to be is the Xiaomi Mi 5 then.
The image has come via the Chinese company’s Weibo account (via Phone Arena), and it sadly does not reveal anything else about the much anticipated handset. We do know from prior leaks that the Mi 5 will apparently adopt a 5.2-inch display bearing Quad HD resolution.
The Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor with its highly advanced 64-bit quad core CPU will be placed at its heart moreover. This is purportedly the main reason for the delay in the launch of the Mi 5 smartphone, since Qualcomm will only be providing this CPU to manufacturers in the early days of 2016.
We can expect Xiaomi to also equip the device with a pressure sensitive display like the one seen on the new-age iPhone 6S models. An Android 6.0 Marshmallow-based version of MIUI 7 is certain to make its way into the phone, even as this particular software has already been confirmed to be headed to the Mi 4 and the Mi Note handsets.
