Xiaomi’s latest beast, the Mi 5 smartphone has finally landed on Indian soil, albeit only in the form of its 32GB variant. This model will start being sold in the country on April 6 via Mi.com in exchange of Rs 24999. It will enter other e-commerce portals in the following weeks.
Like we said, it’s only the 32GB model (with 3GB RAM) that has entered India, with the 64GB variant (with 3GB RAM) having been left out of this release. It is to be noted that a 128GB ‘Pro’ version of the Xiaomi Mi 5 also exists in China, that comes with 4GB worth of RAM.
A quick glance at the key specs of the Xiaomi Mi 5:

But let us focus on the model that’s out in India for now. It happens to be the first ever handset in the country to offer a Snapdragon 820 processor. This chipset promises extremely fast operations thanks to its incorporation of an advanced 1.8GHz quad core processor and an Adreno 530 GPU.
The Mi 5’s design incorporates curved glass and metal both, giving it a premium appearance. Not to mention, it has been fitted with a fingerprint scanner that doubles up as its home button. This dual SIM 4G phone houses a 16MP rear camera that supports 4-axis OIS and 4K video recordings.
It seems only the white color option of the Xiaomi Mi 5 has been brought into India. The company may be planning to release the white and gold choices via other e-commerce websites. Head over to Mi.com now to grab a good peek at the smartphone.
