November 24 is all set to be a huge day for Xiaomi fans, as two new devices have already been confirmed by the Chinese company to have been slated for an unveiling on the said date. We now hear that the firm even plans on showcasing its first ever smartwatch at this event.
The Mi Watch as it may very well be referred to won’t be Xiaomi’s first wearable though, for two iterations of its highly successful Mi Band are already out in the market. Being a smartwatch, it’s expected to either run a tailored version of MIUI or straightaway adopt Google’s Android Wear platform.
News about this possibility has come via the ever so reliable Leaksfly (via GSM Arena) who hasn’t revealed any other details about the device. The two Xiaomi offerings which have been confirmed to be arriving at the upcoming event include the Redmi Note 2 Pro and the Mi Pad 2.
But rumor has it that the smartwatch could be accompanied by a showcase of the company’s upcoming flagship the Mi 5 as well. It’s being said that this smartphone is being held back because the firm wants to equip it with the Snapdragon 820 chipset which doesn’t begin shipping until next year.
This means, just to calm the fans down Xiaomi could just give a glimpse of this handset, leaving the actual release to 2016. These are speculations though, and all will only be clear on November 24.
Xiaomi’s new smartwatch will be interesting to see not only for its offerings, but also due to the company’s knack of selling feature-packed devices at incredibly low prices.
