Xiaomi launches Redmi Note 3 metal-bodied smartphone

Xiaomi’s been dying to show you its new all metal Redmi Note 3 smartphone. It’s only been a few months since Note 2 was launched after all. The biggest surprise of all is the price of the handset, a mere $140 (RMB 899) for its 16GB version.

The 16GB memory capacity is paired with 2GB of RAM. If you’d rather pick the Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 with more RAM of 3GB and 32GB internal storage, be ready to fork out a bit more ($172 or RMB 1099). We’re still waiting on news about its availability outside China.

The mid-range device uses a MediaTek Helio X10 processor, just like the Redmi Note 2. The front panel plays host to a 1080p full HD display of 5.5 inches. This Xiaomi phone is powered by the Android based MIUI 7 OS. It has a huge 4000mAh battery, and comes in gold, silver and dark gray.
