Wipro has taken up the noble cause of going the green way by announcing its membership in “The Green Grid” which is a global consortium dedicated to advancing energy efficiency in data centers and business computing ecosystems.
Wipro plans to move on to an eco-friendly mode with its energy efficient data centers, eco-friendly product engineering designs and PC ranges. The company plans on providing industry-wide recommendations on best practices, metrics and technologies for improving the energy efficiency of its data centres and business computing.
Wipro Technologies Chief Marketing Officer Jessie Paul said, “The data centres provide end-to-end services to our enterprise customers for better capacity utilization and enable them to minimize energy consumption, cooling and housing equipment, which cause greenhouse gases. Server virtualization at the centres minimizes the use of equipment for operations.”
Wipro seems to be fulfilling this year’s theme of World Environment Day which is Kick The Habit: Towards A Low-Carbon Economy. With the fears of global warming gearing on a higher speed, it has become a must for companies to adopt such eco-friendly methods and the joining of a gigantic and respectable company like Wipro seems to leave a good impact in the minds of the consumers.
