Budged-friendly smartphone maker WickedLeak recently announced the Wammy Passion Z in India and what has managed to catch our attention is that it comes with a 1080p display for a price of just Rs 14,990. By the looks of it, this is one pretty sweet deal and it’s bound to steal some attention away from the big players such as the S4, Xperia Z, One and Find 5.
The WickedLeak Wammy Passion Z is amongst the few devices in the country to come with a FHD IPS panel and it appears to the first of its kind from the company. The display measures 5 inches wide and is designed with the OGS technology. Also, it features a pixel density of 443ppi as well as a scratch-resistant Dragon Trail Glass coating from Corning. Google’s 4.2 Jelly Bean mobile platform is preloaded with the phone and it looks like buyers can expect a vanilla Android experience.
Where the design is concerned, the WickedLeak Wammy Passion Z is pretty slim measuring 141mm x 68.7mm x 8.9mm and it weighs 150 grams. Tucked away on the inside is a 1.2GHz quad core MTK6589 Cortex A7 processor, a PowerVR SGX544MP GPU, 1GB RAM, 4GB eMMC flash storage and a microSD card slot supporting 64GB. Like most affordable handsets out there, this one is deployed with dual SIM slots as well.
Users will be able to connect with one 3G and one 2G network or run 2 GSM cards at the same time. Other attributes include a 12MP primary camera with an f2.2 lens, AF, a BSI sensor and an LED flash as well as a Skype compatible 2MP front webcam. Getting the WickedLeak Wammy Passion Z on its feet is a 2500mAh Li-polymer battery.
The WickedLeak Wammy Passion Z is currently available for pre-order in India. The device can be booked through the company’s website for the aforementioned price which excludes taxes. When we last checked, around 278 units were sold and 722 were still in stock. The scheduled release date for the handset is pegged as June 15.
