The Vizio 11.6-inch Tablet PC, yes that’s the name, has gone on sale in the US touting an AMD processor and Windows 8. The last time we saw the Vizio slate was at the CES 2013 and the company has officially announced the device’s availability details on its Twitter account.

We’ve been seeing Intel dominate the slate segment with its latest Atom SOCs. Well, for a change, the Vizio 11.6-inch Tablet PC is amongst the few to pack in an AMD processor. This module is the Z-60 APU which features a 1GHz dual core setup and Radeon HD 6250 graphics. Entertainment is one of the main highlights of the device. It features a full HD 1080p LED capacitive touchscreen with 10-finger multi-touch input.

Complementing the visuals are dual stereo speakers that are backed by the SRS Premium Sound HD audio enhancement. Additionally, there’s microHDMI output for viewing content on a larger screen. Where the design is concerned, the Vizio 11.6-inch Tablet PC is crafted with a compact form factor that measures 11.66 x 7.53 x 0.39 inches in dimensions. The overall weight is pegged at 1.80 pounds.

Coming to the innards of the Vizio 11.6-inch Tablet PC, the company has employed a 33.3Wh battery to power it up. The estimated activity life derivable on a single charge is pegged at 5 hours. Memory arrives in the form of a 64GB SSD, which isn’t much, and 2GB of RAM. There’s a front-facing camera as well, a 2MP snapper to be exact.
