Leaks had given away a large number of details regarding the Vivo X5 Max before now, but we finally have official information about it as the company has just unveiled the device in its entirety. It is of course, distinguished by the fact that it’s currently the thinnest smartphone in the world owing to its body which happens to be just 4.75mm slim.
This way, it beats the Oppo R5 which sports a slightly thicker form factor of 4.9mm. The Vivo X5 Max moreover, manages to cram in a 3.5mm jack as well which was left out of the R5 due to space constraints.
Buyers of this new smartphone will be getting a 5.5-inch full HD display and a Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 chipset which comes with a 1.7GHz quad core Cortex-A53 CPU and a 64-bit 1GHz quad core Cortex-A53 CPU. This setup of the Vivo phone is accompanied by 2GB worth of RAM.
While the internal storage memory of the X5 Max has been kept locked at 16GB, there’s indeed a microSD card slot present on it for expansions. Hi-Fi 2.0 speakers, a pre-loaded Karaoke app with a Yamaha YSS-205X chip, a 13MP Sony IMX214 rear snapper and a 5MP front camera are some of its other highlights.

As revealed by GSM Arena, the Vivo X5 Max will be sold in China from December 22 onward at CNY 2998 which translates roughly to $485 or Rs 30000. That latter amount is an important one since the handset is slated to arrive in India on December 15.
