Following the footsteps of Sprint, Virgin Mobile and LG have announced that the Optimus F3 smartphone is now available on its network for a budget-minded off-contract tag. Being the smallest member of the range’s F series, this handset not only brings rich entertainment features at an alluring price, but also 4G LTE for high speed data access.
The phone comes with a modest-sized 4-inch IPS touchscreen with a coating of Corning Gorilla Glass 2 for enhanced durability. The device measures 0.39 inches thick and it tips the scales at 4 ounces. The front also sports a 0.3MP snapper, while the rear houses a 5MP camera with 1080p FHD video recording. On the inside hides a dual core 1.2GHz processor and a large battery of 2,460mAh which can deliver up to 16 hours of talk time or 9 days of standby.
Along with decent specifications, the F3 comes with rich features through the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean platform and the Optimus UI. Buyers will have the QuickMemo tool at hand for taking screenshots of any application and drawing handwritten notes over them. Then there’s QSlide 2.0 for enhanced multitasking and SmartShare for streaming convent to compatible devices. Apart from these, the device also tags along Wi-Fi Direct, Tag+, Quiet Mode, Android Beam for NFC and Quick Translator.
While Sprint is offering the Optimus F3 for $29.99 with a 2-year contract, Virgin Mobile has started selling the smartphone for a price of $179.99 when coupled with a Beyond Talk plan which provides unlimited data and messaging for a monthly payment of $35.
