Verizon to offer Loopt Location Sharing Service to its Customers

Verizon Loopt Logos Verizon Wiress has announced its partnership with Loopt to offer Loopt’s location service.

Loopt offers users having GPS capable phones the ability to share their location and status messages, send proximity-based messages and view geo-tagged photos and content on-the-go. The service updates location of users after every 15 minutes.

Also, Loopt’s location service alerts users when a network friend is in close proximity. This enables users to catch up with friends in the mall, at the movies or even around town.

That not all; the Lootp Location service also allows users to turn location-sharing on or off at any time on a friend-by-friend basis or for all friends at once.

“Loopt offers Verizon Wireless customers a fun, unique and powerful way to connect with friends and share information,” said Ryan Hughes, vice president of digital media programming for Verizon. “Loopt enhances the mobile experience by letting friends stay in touch with and informed of their friends’ lives wherever they go.”

Verizon customers will be able to use this Loopt location service from next at the additional charges of $3.99 per month. More than 20 popular mobile phones are compatible with this service including LG Chocolate, MOTORIZR Z6tv and Verizon Wireless G’zOne Type-S.
