Amazon is done unveiling its Fire TV streaming device, and the company has ever since shifted its focus onto a unique smartphone that should hit the market later this year. We’ve seen alleged images of this device, but we’ll be able to have an official look at it on June 18 at an event which the retail giant is holding on its home turf, Seattle.
The video you can spot in the space below shows some of its customers presumably holding the device in their hands and reacting to one of its prominent features – a 3D effect which can be accessed without wearing any special glasses. The image down below is that of a leaked prototype and it clearly shows five of the six cameras that have been pushed onto it to achieve the 3D effect.
Amazon founder Jeff Bezos will be hosting this live event, and unlike other showcases of its kind, members of the press won’t be the only invitees. Anyone can request an invite which is perhaps a bid to let customers see the device in person as it won’t be entirely possible to generate the proper 3D effect in promotional videos.
This smartphone from Amazon is also rumored to possess a 4.7-inch 720p HD display. Moreover, while four of its six cameras are meant for the 3D effect, one offers 13MP imaging and the other is aimed towards video calling.
Stay tuned until June 18 if you wish to know more about the upcoming Amazon smartphone and its all-important price.
