HP has introduced an ultra-portable, all-black and stylish photo printer called the HP Photosmart A626 in India. This printer is targeted at home users and has been launched in time for the approaching holiday season of 2007.
The HP A626 photo printer features a 4.8-inch touch-sensitive screen that happens to be the largest ever to be built into a portable compact photo printer. Plus, this printer comes with a stylus pen that allows users to personalize and edit photos with “virtual ink” by writing on the large touch-sensitive screen.
The HP A626 photo printer is compatible with memory cards that are required to be inserted into the printer’s card slots. Alternatively, users can also use PictBridge-compatible cameras attached to the printer. Using the optional Bluetooth adapter, photos can also be read from Bluetooth-enabled mobile phones by the printer.
“The new HP Photosmart A626 Compact Photo Printer adds a fun dimension to the photo printing experience,” said Vibhor Bansal, Country Category Manager – Personal Printing Products, Imaging and Printing Group, Hewlett-Packard India Sales.
“With the festive season round the corner, we at HP felt it is a good opportunity to provide our consumers with a printer that can capture the special moments of Dusserha, Eid and Diwali. The HP Photosmart A626 Compact Photo Printer also features advanced photo editing capabilities that include red eye removal and black & white, antique and sepia photo treatments. Other enhancement options include “metallicize” and “solarize”. Also available is a slimming enhancement option that automatically makes human subjects appear slimmer.
Once edited and personalized, photos can be saved back on to memory cards or printed as 5 x 7-inch or 4×6-inch borderless prints.
The HP Photosmart A626 Compact Photo Printer uses the HP 110 Tri-color Inkjet Print Cartridge that contains HP Vivera inks that produce lab-quality photos and deliver enhanced durability. Photos printed using these inks have superior smudge and smear resistance, and even offer long-lasting fade resistance, preserving their detail and colors for generations.
The HP Photosmart A626 Compact Photo Printer carries an affordable price of Rs.7999.
