The cost-effective Ubislate7+, an upgraded version of the Aakash tablet that’s otherwise known as the Ubislate7, has now gone up for pre-order in India bearing various upgrades and a fresh set of features. The budget-friendly device will be available along with a slab of Gingerbread and the taste of an 800MHz processor.
Packed within the device is a LCD display which stretches up to 7 inches diagonally and portrays a resolution of 800 x 480 pixels. Besides the Cortex A8 SOC, it incorporates 256MB of RAM and an HD video co-processor for better graphics rendering, while the device is powered by a 3200mAh battery. Although the Google Play store isn’t likely to find its way onto the tablet, users should be able to download games, application and various other digital content through the pre-installed GetJar App Store.
For going online, users will have access to Wi-Fi IEEE 802.11 a/b/g networks and hotspots as well as 3G bands through the optional USB modem. The tablet even supports SIM cards. Where hoarding needs are concerned, it is equipped with a full-sized USB 2.0 port and a microSD card slot supporting a maximum of 32GB. The company has left in the UbiSurfer web browser which is said to accelerate the time a website takes to load by around 10 to 30 times the speed, for an enriched surfing experience.
The Ubislate7+ price in India amounts to Rs. 2,999. Potential users can even opt for the Rs. 99 monthly plan which brings in 2GB of data over GPRS. The tablet can now be pre-ordered through the company’s website.
