Transcend Serial ATA Flash Module launched in India

Transcend SATA Flash Module

Transcend has launched a high-speed Serial ATA Flash Module in the Indian market. The new module is targeted for use in thin clients, blade servers, ultra-compact sub-notebooks and space-limited industrial installations.

Transcend claims that its new SATA flash module offers solid-state reliability and speed in a lightweight compact package. In addition, direct motherboard connection and low-profile design make the module space saving, eliminating the need of bulky cables.

The new Transcend SATA flash module further consumes lesser power and also offers improved shock and vibration resistance. Hence the hard disk drive provides longer data retention durability and instant access speeds with zero spin-up or seek time.

Moreover, the built-in ECC (Error Correction Code) and an advanced wear leveling algorithm enable long-term data transfer and storage for professional computing applications. While the use of the SLC (Single-Level-Cell) NAND Flash chips ensures fast read / write speeds and smooth, delay-free software operation.

Austin Huang, Regional Head – Sales, SAARC and APAC, Transcend, said, “We are extremely proud to launch another of Transcend’s top-of-the-line products for industrial application requirements. With robust, non-volatile flash memory, the SATA flash module is ideal for use in harsher, more demanding industrial environments such as in industrial PCs, embedded systems, medical instruments, factory automation systems, network infrastructure and other industrial equipment.”

Transcend claims that its SATA flash modules are the perfect combination of size, performance, and reliability and are now offered in capacities of 1GB and 2GB in both Vertical (male SATA data and power connectors) and Horizontal (female SATA connector with mini 2-pin power and mechanical write-protection switch) versions to satisfy your industrial application requirements.

In a nutshell, features of the Transcend Serial ATA Flash Module are:

  • Compact, lightweight low profile design
  • Direct motherboard connection saves space and cable clutter
  • Fully compatible with SATA-enabled devices and operating systems
  • Non-volatile flash memory offers industrial grade data retention
  • Resistant to shock, vibration, heat and cold
  • Supports Ultra DMA Mode 4 with transfer speeds up to 1.5Gb/s
  • Built-in ECC ensures reliable data transfer
  • Silent, cool and power saving
  • RoHS compliant
  • Transcend Serial ATA Flash Module is now available in the Indian market at 8,500.
