The Toshiba Qosmio X875 as well as the Satellite S Series are the latest to join the lineup of Windows 8 products for which various manufacturers have disclosed price and launch details. Both of the aforementioned laptops are now available for pre-order through ToshibaDirect and various retailers in the US.
The Qosmio X875 is designed for gamers and professionals seeking the latest technologies at an affordable cost. Catering to performance needs here is a third generation Intel Core i7 processor that’s accompanied by up to 32GB of 1600MHz RAM. Graphics rendering is left in the hands of the Nnidia GeForce GTX 670M GPU that arrives with 3GB of GDDR5 discrete memory. A 17.3-inch HD+ TruBrite display is fitted under the lid for visuals and the company is also offering a full HD 3D-ready screen that works with the Nvidia 3D Vision 2 Kit. The laptop is configurable with up to 2TB of storage, an LED-backlit keyboard and a 10-key numeric pad.
The Satellite S800 laptop series is classified under the all-purpose category. Catering to entertainment needs are stereo speakers with SRS Premium Sound HD, options of a 15.6- or 17.3-inch HD TruBrite display and a Blu-ray Disc player. Users can employ up to 1TB of memory for storage and choose between the latest Intel processors or AMD A-Series APUs. This rig supports a maximum of 8GB RAM. The new Satellite S955 is designed with portability in mind. It packs in the same processor options as the S800 and up to 8GB of RAM. Visuals are delivered through a 15.6-inch diagonal HD TruBrite display and there’s even a built-in DVD drive accompanied by a host of connectivity options.
The Toshiba Qosmio X875 will cost potential buyers a whopping $1,479.99 and above. While the Satellite S955 will be available for a starting cost of $649.99, the S800 can be picked up for $749.99. The release date for these laptops is scheduled for October 26.
