The latest tablet prepping to enter the U.S. markets next week is the Toshiba Excite 10 LE. This 10-inch slab shows off a 7.7mm chassis and tips the scales at a mere 535g, proffering potential users with a slim device, which can be ported around with ease.
Folks preferring a scoop of Ice Cream Sandwich can update the onboard Android 3.2 OS to the latest platform starting this spring. Formerly titled the Excite X10, this slick device dons a LED Backlit widescreen Corning Gorilla glass display that diagonally spans across 10.1 inches. Furthermore, the screen is integrated with IPS technology and flaunts 10-finger multi-touch support. The interiors house a 1.2GHz OMAP 4430 multicore processor that comes backed by 1GB RAM.
“Excite 10 LE embodies what a luxury tablet should be,” states Carl Pinto, vice president of product development, Toshiba America Information Systems, Digital Products Division. “We have engineered this tablet with premium materials and components, given it elegant yet durable styling and more connectivity options than any other tablet in its class, while fitting everything into an astonishingly thin and light design.”
As for the snappers on this high-end slab, there is a front-facing 2MP one and a 5MP camera on the rear panel. The basics such as the micro USB and HDMI ports with a microSD card slot remain in place on this Bluetooth and Wi-Fi enabled device. Audiophiles can groove to clear sounds thanks to the inclusion of the onboard stereo speakers that boast of enhancements from Toshiba and SRS Labs.
The Toshiba Excite 10 LE price specifications for the 16GB and 32GB variants spell out to be $529.99 and $599.99, respectively. The tablet will be hitting availability status on March 6, 2012.
