Recently we reported about the BlackBerry Bold, Research In Motion’s new smartphone. However, its availability and network carrier details were undisclosed at that time.
Today, AT&T announced that it will be the exclusive carrier of the BlackBerry Bold. The latest smartphone will be available later this year. AT&T has further said that owners of the 3G capable phone will be able to use their handsets in countries like Japan and South Korea.
AT&T’s 3G network is now available in more than 270 leading US markets delivering uplink speed of 500 to 800 Kbps and downlink speeds of 600 to 1,400 Kbps.
BlackBerry Bold is the first 3G capable phone from RIM. It supports tri-band HSDPA high-speed networks around the world, integrated GPS, Wi-Fi and other multimedia capabilities.
