With phones looking to go beyond the current-gen security features, iris scanners are all set to become a big deal soon. It hence makes sense for smartphones like the Rs 7999 TCL 560 to start popping up to revel in the hype before big players come up with their offerings.
TCL has been operating in India since quite a long time under its partnership with Alcatel, but this is the first time that it has come up with its own smartphone. The 560’s iris scanner is dubbed ‘EyeVerify’ by the company, and is of course used for scanning your retina in order to unlock the device.
Judging by the price tag of Rs 7999, one can guess that this offering is not that impressive in terms of specifications. It has gone for a 5.5-inch display with 720p HD resolution and a quad core Snapdragon 210 processor. Plus, there’s just 2GB worth of RAM, aside from 16GB of storage and a microSD card slot.
A quick peak at the specs of the TCL 560:
– Display: 5.5-inch, 720p HD
– OS: Android 6.0 Marshmallow
– Processor: 1.1GHz quad core Snapdragon 210
– Memory: 2GB RAM, 16GB storage (expandable)
– Cameras: 8MP rear, 5MP front
– Battery: 2500mAh

An 8MP camera sits on its rear surface, whereas a 5MP snapper can be spotted on its front. As for the battery inside the TCL 560, it happens to be a 2500mAh unit. This is a dual SIM 4G phone which runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow out of the box.
