Domestic manufacturer Datawind has launched yet another affordable tablet in India in the form of the Ubislate i3G7. The device is officially priced at Rs 5999 but is selling at Rs 4444 exclusively via Gadgets 360. It’s set to hit offline retail stores across the country soon.
Like previous tablets in the series, the Datawind Ubislate i3G7 too offers a year’s worth of free internet access, this time in partnership with Reliance. In order to take advantage of the offer, users will have to head to the gadget’s UbiSurfer Internet browser app and fill up a registration form.
The process doesn’t require a data plan and there are no monthly fees involved. However, the Ubislate i3G7’s free internet access does not extend to audio or video streaming and downloads. Consumers will have to snap up a separate top-up plan for those to be possible.
Other than free data surfing, one of the main highlights of the Datawind device is its 1.2GHz quad-core Intel processor. It helps the tablet stand out from the entry-level affordable tablet crowd in India, many of which sport a MediaTek or Snapdragon SoC.
As for specs, the Ubislate i3G7 comes packed with a 2800mAh battery which can supposedly last for 4 hours of talk time and 120 hours of standby time. The dual-SIM voice calling tablet further runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop and sports a 7-inch display with a resolution of 1024 x 600p.
