As expected, MSI has joined the Windows 8.1 tablet game with its S100 slate that’s powered by the Intel Bay Trail processor family. The new release falls in the 10.1-inch category and it’s being touted as a 3-in-1 devices.
The MSI S100 looks no different from most 10.1-inch Windows tablets on the market. The front features thick bezels and the start button on the bottom. And on the rear, the company has gone with a brushed metal texture. The 3-in-1 design means that the slate has been crafted for multiple purposes.
Apart from looking like a regular tablet, there’s a keyboard docking station that also acts as a cover, for a laptop-like experience. And with HDMI output, you’ll be able to use the slate as a desktop PC by connecting it to an external display. The 10.1-inch display on the front offer 1280 x 800 pixel resolution and 10-point touch input.
There are dual 2MP cameras as well, while the innards comprise of the 1.33GHz quad core Bay Trail-T Z3740D processor, 2GB RAM, 64GB storage and a 7500mAh battery. The overall storage capacity can be extended through the microSDHC card slot and USB 2.0 port with OTG support, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity features are even included.

MSI is yet to disclose price and availability details for the S100 tablet. Like most other Bay Trail Windows slates, this one will also be sold with an affordable price tag.
