T-Mobile BlackBerry Q10 pre-orders start on April 29 for business customers

T-Mobile BlackBerry Q10

T-Mobile will be offering the BlackBerry Q10 smartphone for pre-order on April 29, albeit only interested business customers will be able secure a unit. The handset recently went official for Canada and it will hit retail stores on May 1, 2013, for around $199 with a 3-year contract.

The latest smartphone from the Canadian manufacturer packs in the classic QWERTY keyboard that was a trademark for previous devices and like a few 2012 models, it even employs a touchscreen to deliver the best of both worlds. The keypad has been designed to make text input an effortless task and the phone’s overall form factor is crafted out from lightweight as well as durable materials. At 10.4mm, the device measures a tad thicker than the flagship Z10. And it’s heavier as well, carrying a weight of 139 grams with the difference being merely 4 grams.

Both smartphones operate on the BB10 platform and they proffer similar UI features. Hub is the place to go for accessing notifications, messages and conversations in a single UI, while Balance allows users to jump between personal and work profiles that separate office-related data from individual content. Then there’s BBM chat with Screen Share that let’s owners converse face-to-face and even show stuff from their phone’s screen to others.

Coming to the hardware components employed here, the handset is bundled with a dual core 1.5GHz processor and 2GB of RAM. Users will have 16GB of storage out of the box and a microSD card slot that supports up to 64GB. The rear plays house to an 8MP camera. While the front sports a 2MP lens and a 3.1-inch display on the upper body, the QWERTY keyboard is situated on the lower half. The phone is capable of delivering up to 14.4 days of standby or 13.5 hours of talktime.
