HTC today launched its new S740 smartphone successor of the HTC S730. The new phone sports a slim, stylish look and is wrapped in a matt black. It comes with a traditional 12-keys keypad and a slide-out QWERTY keyboard.
The HTC S740 phone features the fastest mobile broadband capabilities with a maximum download speed of 7.2 Mbps, which is up to 18 times faster than 3G.
Besides, it features a 2.4 inch QVGA display. The phone is powered by Windows Mobile 6.1 Standard OS and is equipped with an internal flash memory of 256MB. Also the smartphone comes with features such as a 3.2 MP camera, GPS, Bluetooth, FM radio and microSD slot.
Some of the other specifications of the HTC S740 smartphone are as follows:

The HTC S740 phone is expected to be made available in the European markets by September 2008. No word on the pricing yet.
