Star Trek, has undoubtedly been one of the most popular television shows. The classic TV show has been adapted into successful movies and games.
Today a new online game based on Star Trek was announced. The new Star Trek game is being developed by California based online games developer Cryptic Studios. The company had previously developed the highly acclaimed game “City of Heroes and is currently working on Champions Online.
Cryptic Studios announced that they have licensed the rights to develop a massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORG) called Star Trek Online.
The company also plans to showcase the first video footage of the game at the upcoming Star Trek convention in Las Vegas on August 10th.
The game is currently in development using the Cryptic Engine and is expected to be made available for console and PC platforms.
