Sprint Samsung Galaxy S III price and release date revealed

Sprint Samsung Galaxy S III

While Verizon wasn’t too eager to reveal the day on which they’d bring in the ‘iPhone’s closest competitor,’ the Sprint Samsung Galaxy S III price and release date details are out in the open already. This comes after Samsung sounded the alert on the smartphone hitting no less than five major US carriers this month.

As per the information provided through the Sprint press release, the handset goes up for pre-order on June 5, that’s today itself. The network operator is offering both the 16GB and 32GB variants for pre-booking, though the latter can only be reserved via web sales. The 16GB one can be ordered via Sprint outlets, business sales, telesales and even online. Expected on June 21, the phone tags along a two-year customer agreement and plans on a new line or eligible upgrade.

“Sprint and Samsung take another leap forward together in bringing our customers the best in mobile technology with Galaxy S III on the Sprint 4G LTE network,” commented Fared Adib, vice president – Product Development, Sprint. “Sprint is the only US carrier to offer this device with the simplicity of unlimited data plans. Our customers will appreciate being able to use the robust features and capabilities of this device without worrying about data caps, throttling or silly overage charges.”

The Samsung Galaxy S III is being sold at around $199.99 for the 16GB capacity version, while customers will have to drop roughly $249.99 in change for double the storage. Arriving with Google Wallet, the device will have to wait until later this year for access to 4G LTE, since Sprint is yet to launch this particular service. Also, the smartphone will shed its quad core processor for a dual core one when it lands stateside.

Now that the Sprint Samsung Galaxy S III price and release date information is out, we’re guessing fans have already started pre-ordering. As to the pebble blue version’s supply woes, we aren’t hearing a peep about the issue as of now. The carrier is currently offering the handset in both the marble white and pebble blue shades.
