Sprint will start offering the HTC 8XT next Friday for a price of $99.99 after a $50 mail-in rebate. So it’s not just US Cellular which will be getting its first Windows Phone 8 device this month. But don’t reach for your wallet just yet, there’s one more WP8 gadget that is set to join the 8XT sometime soon – the Samsung Ativ S Neo.
As for the handset which will make its debut on July 19, the network operator is baiting customers in select areas with unlimited 4G LTE data, texts and calls. With regards to specifications, the device has a 4.3-inch WVGA touchscreen and gets its steam from a 1.4GHz dual core Snapdragon 400 processor. It has help from 1GB of RAM and an 1800mAh Li-ion battery.
The onboard storage of 8GB is complemented by a memory card slot which should allow for 64GB of additional locker room. There’s an 8MP camera with auto focus, an LED flash and an aperture of f/2.0, on the rear panel. On the other side, a 1.6MP lens is perched above the display. NFC, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 3.0, a 3.5mm headphone jack and GPS with GLONASS are placed under the connectivity features.
As is the case with most of the newer handsets from the Taiwanese company, the audio is supported by BoomSound (a pair of front speakers with in-built amplifiers) as well as Beats Audio. The specifications we’ve listed out may not sound exceptionally exciting, but the WP8 phone does make for a decent, mid-range toy by any standards.
The WP8 device can be paired with a new line or eligible upgrade and a two-year customer service agreement.
