The HTC 8XT, an all new Windows Phone 8-based handset which is set to make its debut in the US very soon, has been announced by Sprint. Although a release date for the HTC device has not been mentioned, the carrier went on to reveal the price details. It will set users back by $99.99 after a $50 mail-in rebate if they sign a two-year agreement.
Apart from the HTC 8XT, the service provider in question has introduced another Microsoft-certified phone dubbed Samsung Ativ S Neo which will be available for just under $150. Those who choose the former can expect a horde of features that are seen on most of the latest devices manufactured by the Taiwan-based OEM. These include BoomSound with a dedicated amplifier as well as front-mounted stereo speakers and Beats Audio amongst others.
The device’s rear panel sports an 8MP lens complete with standard attributes like auto focus, LED flash, digital zoom and more. In addition to these, the snapper brings the multishot burst mode, HDR and the ability to click pictures while recording videos. A dedicated camera button ensures that prospective users are always ready to capture picture-perfect moments, even when the HTC 8XT is locked. And if that’s not enough, a 1.6MP webcam has also been thrown into the mix.
Coming to the HTC 8XT smartphone’s display, it offers a multi-touch real estate of 4.3 inches and renders visuals in 800 x 480p resolution. This screen should withstand scrapes and scratches as a film of Corning Gorilla Glass has been reinforced on the front panel. The 4G LTE-enabled handset draws power from a 1800mAh battery and employs a 1.4GHz dual core Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor. As for the memory, it has a full gigabyte of RAM and 8GB of internal storage which is expandable up to 64GB.
Potential buyers can pre-register for email updates through the service provider’s official website. The 8XT will be up for purchase at the aforementioned price and will require a qualifying data plan too.
