Sony plans to unveil a new flagship smartphone and tablet at the MWC 2014, but it could also showcase new mid-range handsets like the Xperia G. We recently spotted the D5103 device in benchmarks and now images for the former phone have surfaced online.
The Sony D5103 and the Xperia G could be one and the same. Japanese website Blog of Mobile spotted the device at the GFXBench website under the said model number and a few specifications of the smartphone were disclosed. The handset runs on Android 4.4.1 KitKat and it has a quad core 1.4GHz Snapdragon 400 MSM8226 processor. No display size was mentioned, but the phone will proffer visuals in 720p HD resolution.

A second leak has surfaced through Twitter user Vizileaks. The leakster has uploaded what’s said to be images of the Sony Xperia G alongside the company’s flagship. By the looks of things, the Sony Xperia G will sport the same design language as the Xperia Z2 and it’s said to be 4.8 inches wide. However, the form factor will not be water-resistant. The handset will be part of the D series and it will carry 4G LTE support. Apart from these details, the tweet also mentions 1GB of RAM and an 8MP rear camera.
Sony already launched a few mid-range handsets last month, the Xperia Z1 compact and the T2 Ultra. It isn’t clear how many more phones the company has up its sleeves, but the wait to find out isn’t long as February 24 is the date where these upcoming devices are expected to go official.
