Sony Xperia Z5 and Z5 Premium enter India with expectedly high price tags

It’s time for Sony’s new high-end smartphones to dabble in the lucrative Indian market, and the Xperia Z5 and Z5 Premium have finally been launched by the company in the country. While the former handset has been granted a Rs 52990 price tag, the 4K display-equipped latter offering has been placed at Rs 62990.

Sony has chosen to keep their Compact variant out of India for the time being. It should be noted that both the waterproof Xperia Z5 and the Z5 Premium have been launched in the nation in the form of dual SIM variants, offering 4G support via both their slots.

Sony has bundled these new smartphones with a bevy of freebies. Each purchase will be accompanied with a purchase coupon for a smart cover, while subscriptions to services like Sony Liv, Sony Music, Amazon Kindle, and Hungama Play are also being offered.

HDFC card holders will be able to get up to Rs 5000 cashback, whereas those who will be pre-booking the Xperia Z5 Premium handset prior to November 4 will receive noise-cancellation headphones worth Rs 5490 for free. Both the smartphones will moreover ship with Sony’s UCH10 quick charger which is able to provide 5.5 hours of battery life in just 10 minutes of charging.
